HOST GUIDE

THE VENUE

*Living Rooms, Backyard, Basements, Back Patios, Gardens, Yoga Studios*

  • Our ideal is for the event to be hosted at any private space where everyone is gathered in one room and can have direct eye contact with us.  Chairs or floor space with pillows and blankets are all welcome.
  • Most importantly we are creating a ceremonial music-listening experience.  This means that you are creating an environment to hold space for vulnerability, openness, and heart to heart connection.

THE DATE

  • Friday and Saturday evenings are always ideal.  However, working within the travel and scheduling logistics of our tour, we ask hosts to be open to other evenings of the week as well.
  •  If a weekend night is truly your only availability, please let us know. Otherwise take note that the event is usually done by 9:30 p.m. so a weeknight can also work well for your guests.  We will do all we can to accommodate you. Be sure to let us know specific dates that do not work for you.  Once we receive each host’s interest in participating, we create our route utilizing the available dates each host provides.

THE GUESTS

  • An audience of 12-30+ people is ideal.  The guests are your MM local group, friends, and family!  If this number feels difficult to reach, consider co-hosting the event with a friend so together you can send out more invitations to fill the room.  Be sure your co-host reads this host’s guide as well.
  • Invitations. As space will be limited be sure to let your guests know that this event requires an RSVP. Hosts sometimes choose to hand deliver a flyer or mail a personal invitation. We will be in touch with you during this invitation process to make sure your RSVP invitations are working smoothly.
  • Children are most welcome at our concerts. We only ask that caregivers make a plan to tag team or step out if necessary.

THE MONEY

  • Hosts introduce the show. You are the key to create an open and generous spirit.  You do this by taking the opportunity to introduce us and share why you felt inspired to host a concert. We will be in touch with each host about the model we use that allows these events to both financially support the musicians, and offer a percentage to our fundraiser
  • Have a vessel ready for donations.  The main fundraiser is for audience members to sign up as patrons for our 10 receivers at the Patron Project. To accept tips, hosts provide a bowl, pitcher, hat, whatever you’d like.  Point to where the vessel is located during your introduction, and again in your conclusion.
  • The evening’s success is all about the host. Your leadership and your open heart during our evening is instrumental for everyone to take part in a successful event. Thank you for collaborating with us in this exciting endeavor!

Reach out with any questions!

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

Sponsors have the opportunity of taking care of the musicians' needs so this fundraiser tour can happen at all. You are the backbone. Once the musicians are covered, this tour is a go!

Once we hit the road, we can focus solely on the fundraiser. Ticket sales won't go to the musicians. Every RSVPed guest at every event will purchase a "ticket" by signing up as a patron for $5 or $20 in order to attend the event. (They can cancel anytime.) 100% of their chosen amount for their ticket will go straight to the receivers of the Patron Project and the Heal Live Thrive Community.
