THE NAME: We named our debut album The Seed to represent how Jason and I feel we are just getting started on our musical journey together, as well as in our commitment to one another as a family.

THE ART: I (Emily) painted the cover art! I finished a whole other canvas that featured a seed surrounded by an intricate, colorful mandala. We both love that first painting, which is now displayed in our sacred altar room. But Jason pointed out to me that the art for this album deserves simplicity. A simple seed. A sprout. A single root. Two basic colors. I thought about it, and realized I fully agreed. I pulled out another canvas and began again.

THE MUSIC: We wanted these songs to showcase how we sound live. There's no bass, no drums, no violins, no studio effects. This album features the simple, authentic folky sound of Jason playing guitar, me on piano, and the blending of our male/female harmonies. Jason sings leads on the songs he wrote, and I do the same. Then there are a few we wrote together where we both contributed music and lyrics. We want to bring in other musicians on the next album we create. But this one will always hold a special place, showing the world just....us....

This project has stretched us as musicians and brought us closer together in every way. We truly hope you enjoy the experience of getting to know the beginning, sprouting seed of Jason and Emily.
